    Q-Cards™

Change the question. Expand the possibilities.

Q-Cards™ four suits: Observe, Explore, Connect and Act

    What it is

Q-Cards™ is a 54-card questioning system for decisions that feel tangled, uncertain or emotionally loaded. Each card asks a question you may not have asked yourself, and gives you one short move to make – a map, a test, a forecast or a commitment. The deck doesn't decide for you. It promises something more useful than certainty: better questions, more options, a clearer account of trade-offs, and an action you can test in the world.

Pause the answer. Expand the frame. Connect the consequences. Make a move.

    Four suits, four thinking moves

Observe · The Field · cards 01–13. Find the actual decision, surface assumptions, and notice how framing changes what seems true.

Explore · The Wave · cards 14–26. Keep several possible futures alive; design alternatives and useful tests before narrowing.

Connect · The Web · cards 27–39. Trace dependencies, affected people, incentives, feedback and second-order consequences.

Act · The Particle · cards 40–52. Choose a direction, control the downside, assign action, and agree what would change your mind.

Two Wild Cards. 53 The Leap opens the frame when you're recycling the same options. 54 The Anchor restores reality when enthusiasm, power or speed is outrunning evidence or ethics.

    Three ways to play

Q-Spark · 2–5 minutes. One card, one sharper question – for an everyday choice or a moment when you need a different angle.

Q-Shift · 15–25 minutes. One card from each suit, in order – Observe → Explore → Connect → Act – for one person facing a meaningful decision.

Q-Lab · 35–60 minutes. For a group: two Observe, two Explore, two Connect, one Act. Everyone reflects independently before comparing, and the session ends with an owner and a review date.

    What's in the box

54 cards – four suits of 13, plus two Wild Cards.

The guidebook – the seven rules, the three formats, worked personal and team examples, the full card atlas, card pairs for advanced sessions, and decision worksheets.

The Q-Cards™ Companion – a free web app that walks you through a session with your physical deck (see below).

    The Q-Cards™ Companion

A companion to the physical deck. Describe your real decision, confirm a Decision Snapshot, enter the cards you drew, reflect privately, then shape an editable Decision Record you own and can export. Guests can use Q-Spark and Q-Shift without an account.

Use it alone – or with us

On your own. Q-Cards™ works as a standalone tool. The guidebook and the companion take you from a decision statement to a written next move, for personal choices and team decisions alike.

With a quaStrat-certified strategist · recommended. The deck is most powerful in a Q-Think workshop, designed and facilitated by a quaStrat-certified team. A facilitator keeps the inquiry honest, brings quieter voices in, notices when a session needs The Anchor, and helps a team turn disagreement into a decision it can own.

    What the cards cannot do

Not an oracle. A random draw broadens attention. It doesn't make an answer more true, more likely or more justified.

Not a substitute. For medical, legal, financial, safety or other high-consequence matters, seek qualified advice and verify the facts.

Not quantum-powered. The quantum ideas are thinking prompts. They don't make the deck scientifically validated or physically quantum.

A stop rule. Pause if a choice is unsafe, coercive, beyond the group's authority or missing indispensable evidence. Choosing to gather evidence is itself a legitimate next move.

    Who it's for

Anyone facing a decision that matters – leaders, teams, founders, managers and individuals – and facilitators who want a structured way to host a useful disagreement.

    How it connects to quaStrat

Q-Cards™ applies the foundry's first discipline – formulate the problem properly before solving it – to the decisions people make every day, with the reasoning written down and a review date set.

The question you draw may not be the one you wanted – but it might be the one you need.
